Utility Operator - Paris Utility District
The Paris Utility District has an immediate
opening for a full-time Utility Operator.
Under the general supervision of the Utility Manager, the Utility Operator performs all functions necessary to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the public water and sewer system. Duties include, but are not limited to the installation, maintenance, repair, relocation, retirement, testing and operations of the water and sewer distribution system and related structures and grounds operations and the maintenance of the production and treatment facilities. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of our team.
The Paris Utility District has a very competitive wage and generous benefits package that includes: Health & Dental Insurance, Maine Public Employees Retirement System, paid vacation, sick and holiday pay. Normal hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Utility Operator will also be required to rotate weekend duty with the current operations personnel. The successful candidate must also possess strong communication skills, be detail oriented and be willing to learn the operations of the district’s water and wastewater treatment facility. A pre-employment physical and drug screening is required prior to the start of employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated technical and mechanical skills through past work experience.
- Currently licensed or the ability to acquire a State of Maine Class 2 Water license and Class 3 Wastewater license within 2 years of hire.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
