The Greater Augusta Utility District is a non-profit public utility that owns and operates a water, sewer and stormwater utility which provides service to multiple communities. These services include sewer collection, wastewater treatment, stormwater collection, drinking water supply and fire protection.


Responsibilities include administrative, and technical work associated with water, stormwater and sewer systems, project design, field layout, follow-up inspection activities, computer aided drafting (CAD), geographic information system data input and output, hydrant flow testing, maintenance of location records, job files and the piping and related supplies inventory system. Assists with the review of plans, designs and specifications for the installation and maintenance of water and sewer and storm systems and conducts field layout and follow-up inspection activities concerning water and sewer systems for the District’s crews and outside contractors. 50% of time in this position will be spent on CAD work.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in the field of Construction and/or Design, in the discipline of civil, environmental or water resources preferred. Training and/or experience in computer aided drafting (CAD), basic engineering/construction is required. Must have or be able to
obtain a Class II Water Distribution Operator’s License, a Class II Water Treatment Operator’s License, and a Grade IV Sewer Collection System License.


This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a comprehensive benefits package including; retirement, family medical/dental insurance and generous leave benefits.

Pay range is $47,940 to $62,326 annualized.
