Class Description:

As an owner and/or operator of a seasonal campground, sporting camp, seasonal or year-round hotel and restaurant, you have numerous responsibilities to ensure the safety of your customers. Providing safe drinking water is one of those responsibilities and is certainly an essential part of your business. Emphasis will be placed on:

  • Seasonal Water System Start Up Plans
  • Required Sampling and Appropriate Sample Procedures
  • Shock Chlorination of the Well
  • Drinking Water Orders
  • Maine and Federal Safe Drinking Water Requirements

This three-hour session will be delivered by live instructors. Also, MRWA offers free follow-up with technical assistance and support. Just give us a call!

Jason Pushard - Maine Rural Water Association

Jason Pushard joins Maine Rural Water Association as the new EPA Program Manager. Prior to joining MRWA, Jason worked for the Maine Drinking Water Program as a Compliance Officer for 4 ½ years and most recently as a Public Water System Inspector for the last 5 years. Prior to working for the DWP, Jason worked for 10 years at the Health & Environmental Testing Laboratory as the shipping & receiving section manager. While at the lab, Jason worked daily with compliance section staff at the DWP and was involved with sample tracking and receipt.

He lives in Sidney with Brenda and their 2 dogs. Jason enjoys boating and being outside during the summer months. When he is not working during the summer, Jason, Brenda and their dogs can be found on their boat somewhere on the Kennebec River or the coast of Maine.

Scott Whitney - Maine Drinking Water Program

Scott Whitney has been with the Drinking Water Program since April 1998, as a compliance officer and field inspector. Scott has a Bachelor's Degree in Plant & Soil (Environmental) Science from the University of Maine. Scott has a Class 2T/2D water operator's license and is a Licensed Site Evaluator. He is a retired US Army Staff Sergeant and in his spare time Scott enjoys gardening, camping, kayaking, fishing and other outdoor activities.

Individuals registered for one of MRWA’s training classes will be charged the class fee if we have not received notice of cancellation at least five business days prior to the class.
