Event Details

Class Description:

This certification exam prep class will focus on the biological, physical, and chemical treatment for operators that are preparing for level I and II wastewater exams. The seven examination core competencies, along with the exam questioning formats, will be discussed based on the ABC 2008 Need-To-Know Criteria. Use of the 2017 Formula/Conversion table for wastewater treatment will be discussed throughout the class. Participants will learn how test preparation and study tips, along with test time management, will be beneficial to testing successfully. Attendees are encouraged to bring their 2017 Formula/Conversion table, notebook, calculator, highlighter, and a pen/pencil to class.


Tuesday-Thursday, January 17th-19th, 2023 | 8:00am - 3:00pm
This session accounts for a daily 30 minute break.

Speaker:

Betty Green – USA Bluebook

Betty comes to USA Bluebook from the Virginia Rural Water Association, where she held positions as a Wastewater Technician, EPA Trainer, and Apprenticeship Coordinator. She has been in the Wastewater industry for 34 years and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science and Aquaculture Sciences and a Class II Virginia Wastewater Works Operators License. She has been an Operation and Maintenance Consultant in New York, Washington D.C., Virginia, and South Carolina and an instructor for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Short School, which is held annually in August at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Betty lives in Virginia and enjoys collecting teapots, dolphins, and owls.
