This class is an overview of major components of chemical feed systems, set-up, safety considerations, and maintenance.

  • Chemical Feed Pumps – Type, Sizing and Application
  • Day Tanks:  Use, Maintenance, and Operation
  • Labeling of Piping and Tubing
  • Chemical Storage: Compatibility and Safety
  • NSF: Using approved Chemicals, and Components
  • Determining Chemical Dosing
    • Using Calibration Cylinders
    • Residuals

Matt Demers, Director of Contract Utility Services, Maine Rural Water Association

Matthew Demers has over 20 years of experience in treatment, maintenance, operations, construction, and management of water and wastewater utilities. He currently holds his Grade 4 Water Treatment and Distribution Licenses. Matt served on the Milo Fire Department for 33 years in every role from Junior Firefighter up through the ranks to Chief. Matt is also the staff contact for the Maine WARN.
