Professional Bio
Jonathan Helstrom serves as General Manager of the Caribou Utilities District, overseeing the delivery of safe, reliable water and wastewater services to the City of Caribou. He brings nearly two decades of experience in utility management, operations, and environmental compliance, and also serves as a contract operator for two separate water and wastewater facilities.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and advanced water and wastewater licenses (Grade 5 Wastewater, Class 4 Water, and Class 3 Distribution). He has served on the Joint Environmental Training Coordinating Committee and the MRWA Legislative Policy Committee.
In addition to his professional roles, Jonathan helped develop the Friends of Monson Pond Lake Association, reflecting his commitment to community stewardship and Maine’s natural resources. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Christine, and their two sons, Eric and Jack, and enjoys camping, kayaking, beekeeping, and other outdoor activities.
