A Rich History of Mainers Helping Mainers
The Maine Rural Water Association (MRWA) is a private, non-profit organization with a very simple goal--helping rural water and wastewater systems provide safe drinking water and protect the environment at an affordable cost to users. The Association is run by and for rural systems. We were incorporated in Maine in October 1979. A seven member board sets policies and goals for the Association.
Our program includes training sessions for system personnel and trustees on federal and state rules, operation and maintenance, and finance. MRWA is an information network keeping you in touch with your neighbor's system, regulatory agencies, and the legislature. We are an effective voice in matters that concern you.
MRWA also provides in-field technical support. Our skilled staff will work with you on leak detection, process control, compliance, operations and maintenance issues, as well as source water protection, budgeting, and collections.
In short, the Association is here for and with you, on anything from operator certification to securing a loan. Call, write, or e-mail us today. We don't have all of the answers, we just usually know where to find them.
