This class will provide an overview of ultraviolet (UV) disinfection for wastewater and drinking water applications and of operational and maintenance considerations. It will begin with a general introduction to the theory and use of UV light for the purpose of disinfection of municipal water supplies. Design criteria for new applications and factors that affect system sizing and maintenance will also be discussed. In addition, there will be a few case studies of Maine UV installations. This class has been approved by DWP, DEP and SPO.
